SUMMARY:Harvest for the Hungry Spirit Week
DESCRIPTION:The 39th annual Harvest for the Hungry drive benefiting the Anne Arundel County Food Bank is underway through October 31! \nJoin us in raising awareness through our Spirit Week days October 27-30: \n\nMonday – NO SCHOOL\nTuesday – Partners in helping kids: Find a partner or group and dress alike!\nWednesday – Put hunger to bed: Wear your pjs so we can put hunger to bed!\nThursday – Team up to feed others: Wear your favorite sports team jersey or colors!\nFriday – Trick or Treat so others can eat: Dress up in your Halloween costume!\n\n  \nHarvest for the Hungry is the Food Bank’s largest food drive of the year\, and they are counting on our support to help the more than 72\,000 people in Anne Arundel County facing food insecurity. Best of all\, 100% of the proceeds benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. Your generosity helps support programs throughout our community\, including food pantries\, baby pantries\, the Mobile Food Pantry\, and the Backpack Buddies program with AACPS. \nHarvest for the Hungry is also a great opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of giving back. By participating\, students learn about hunger in our community and discover that they have the power to make a difference in the lives of others. \n\nHow to donate \nDonate funds online: Visit aacps.org/harvest. When donating\, be sure to select your student’s school from the drop-down menu. AACPS staff can select their office. \nDonate food: Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at your student’s school (or office for AACPS staff) through October 31. \n\nWhat to donate \nALL non-perishable\, non-expired foods are welcome! Think about the foods your own family loves to eat when choosing items to donate. \nPlease avoid glass containers\, which can easily break\, and choose plastic containers whenever possible. \nEvery donation\, big or small\, helps support our neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity and for helping our students make a difference in our community!
